Why does the receptionist need to ask what’s wrong with me, or about the urgency of the appointment?

Our reception staff are important members of the practice, and they remain a vital part of triage system and  might be required to ask patients ”why they need to be seen’.

This is to ensure that you receive

  • the most appropriate medical care
  • from the most appropriate doctor or nurse
  • at the most appropriate time

This is more important in the current environment of prolonged waiting times and work force shortages. We thank you for your understanding and we appreciate your cooperation so we can continue to provide high standard clinical care in the best possible way.
